Revised Application technology transfilling in the Food & Beverages sector

Filling of beverages

During the filling process inert gases are used.

MESSER SOLUTION

Particularly when filling carbonated beverages, the correct choice of conveying gas has to be considered. The use of pure CO2 can cause over-carbonation, whereas the use of pure nitrogen can lead to de-carbonation. Depending on the degree of carbonation in the beverage a suitable gas mixture has to be selected.  In case of non-carbonated beverages the use of nitrogen is the best choice.

Advantages:

  • Protection from oxidation
  • By selecting a suitable gas mixture, no risk of over or de-carbonation
